Houston Restaurant Weeks: Backstreet Cafe

I love Houston Restaurant Weeks. It’s a great opportunity to eat out at some of the best restaurants in Houston at a discounted price and it’s for a good cause. The restaurants that participate in the event donate a portion of each meal sold to the Houston Food Bank.

The first restaurant on my list was Backstreet Cafe. Hugo Ortega is the executive chef and was recently named a finalist for the James Beard Best Chef Southwest Award. His restaurant, Hugo’s, is amazing and I’d been wanting to go to Backstreet Cafe.

I had the red dinner menu with the red wine pairing. My friend had the white menu with a white menu pairing.
