My love affair with food started when I was a little girl, making cookies with my best friend every weekend and making a mess in her mom’s kitchen. I got more serious about food when I was in college. I used to fall asleep to Food Network between classes and working all nighters at my college newspaper. My college roommate and I would take turns making each other dinner and we would spend hours watching food TV for inspiration. Now, as a journalist and a wife, I spend my time planning menus for the week and dreaming about fun dishes to make on the weekends.

“You can’t just eat good food. You’ve got to talk about it too. And you’ve got to talk about it to somebody who understands that kind of food.” – Kurt Vonnegut, Jailbird
